THE RIVER ART FOUNDATION
River Art Foundation is a founder (Marcia Kahn) initiated Oregon nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to advancing charitable and educational arts programming, supporting community engagement, and addressing food insecurity among youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity in Old Town Portland.
YOUTH HUNGER
In the heart of Old Town Portland, too many youth face the daily uncertainty of hunger and homelessness. We are dedicated to providing nutritious meals to youth experiencing homelessness in collaboration with local service providers such as Artist Mentorship Program. Our work goes beyond food— moments of stability, care, and human connection are created in environments that often lack all three. Every meal served is an opportunity to remind a youth that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
ART FOR EVERYONE
Our mission is to advance the cultural renaissance of Old Town Portland, by enriching the community through the transformative power of art. By ensuring free and easily accessible opportunities for engagement, and by providing an open and commercial free workspace for artists to create and exhibit their work, we seek to cultivate creativity, strengthen neighborhood connections, and inspire a vibrant, inclusive community for all.
MISSION
Through free, inclusive, and accessible programming, the Foundation will serve as a creative hub where artists and community members come together to create, exhibit and engage. In addition, the Foundation will provide free, nutritious meals to youth experiencing homelessness, ensuring that its impact extends beyond the arts to meet fundamental human needs. By combining artistic engagement with direct community support, the Foundation seeks to foster a vibrant and caring cultural hub.
OUR PROMISE
As an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization, we are proud to announce that 100% of every donation goes directly toward providing meals for youth in need. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
